ANNOUNCEMENT |
IPSO FACTO TO REPRESENT ENRIQUE VEGANZONES
Ipso Facto is please to announce its representation of Enrique Veganzones.
Enrique Veganzones (b. 1965, Madrid) is a Spanish artist who lives and works on the south-eastern coast of Spain. He studied Social Work and later Fine Arts at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, graduating with honors in painting, before pursuing advanced studies and PhD coursework in philosophy at the Universidad de Murcia. His practice is rooted in geometric abstraction and develops through a sustained attention to seriality, number, rhythm, and verticality. Working across drawing and painting, Veganzones explores the symbolic and contemplative dimensions of form, with a particular interest in what exceeds the merely visible and calls for a more intuitive mode of perception.
His work often incorporates slow, traditional techniques such as stucco, gilding, and egg tempera, not as a return to the past, but as a way of engaging time, process, and the density of experience. He has presented solo exhibitions in Spain, France, and the Netherlands, and has undertaken residencies at Art House Holland, the Josef and Anni Albers Foundation’s Thread residency in Senegal, the National Trust of Georgia in Tbilisi, and the Albers Foundation in Connecticut.
